What to Expect in Worship
When you come to Zion’s hour-long 9:00 AM worship service you’ll find an usher to give you a program, a worship space with high ceilings, windows, walnut pews and a service that is structured, but relaxed. We sing praise songs and hymns and hear scripture and a sermon from our pastors or a lay leader. There is a children’s story and prayer for the community and the peace of the world.
As a visitor, we won’t make you stand up or be introduced. We don’t have lengthy personal sharing from the pews. We do hope to learn your name as you sign the attendance pad passed through the pews, and chat with an usher or the folks at the Welcome Center in the foyer.
The Welcome Center can give you more information about Sunday School, other events of the church, and help you find your bearings in the building. We tend to dress up a little more in the winter months than the summer time – you might see someone wearing a tie, but others are business casual or wearing jeans.
There’s coffee available in the Fellowship Hall after worship, and Christian Education classes for all ages after coffee. If you want a sneak peek at what worship is like, check out our livestream.
