MISSIONARIES

Zion supports several international ministries through prayer and financial contributions.

    • Matthew & Toni Krabill in Paris, France (MMN).  Matthew and Toni serve as directors at the Paris Mennonite Center, where they teach in churches and seminaries and develop Anabaptist theological resources and publications on peace, justice, reconciliation, interfaith dialogue, Islam, Christian responses to refugees, and immigration. They are building relationships with African immigrant churches and strengthening existing ties with French Mennonite congregations.
    • Jayson & Julie Casper in Beirut, Lebanon (IDEAS). Jayson and Julie Casper have lived in the Arab World since 1998, where they seek to demonstrate God’s love, represent his gospel, and extend his kingdom in this long-term ministry. Jayson is a Middle East Correspondent for Christianity Today. In his work as a Christian journalist, Jayson seeks to faithfully report the interplay of religion, politics, and culture, while representing the perspectives of Middle East Christians, Muslims, liberals, and Islamists, in all their variety. The Caspers help us remember we all can be a Christian presence of love and reconciliation in our neighborhoods, communities and workplaces.
    • Gospel Growers in Haiti. Individual members or Sunday School classes sponsor children in order to cover school fees for education in a Christian school. Zion members have supported dozens of children for many years. Other ministries of Gospel Growers are: Christian radio stations, clinics which care for the sick, and church planting.  Six new churches have been planted over the years. For more information, contact Gospel Growers, Inc., PO Box 92814, Southlake, TX  76092.

    • Table of Plenty is an outreach ministry of Zion Mennonite Church that began in October 1997. Table of Plenty volunteers prepare and serve lunch to guests at no charge, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Over the years, the Table of Plenty has served an average of 75-100 meals a week! Now regularly serve 30 or more people each day. In addition to the weekly meals, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner are served to anyone in need or who does not have someone with whom to share the holiday. The Thanksgiving Dinner began in 1990 and the Christmas Dinner in 1996 and have served more than 6000 meals. If you have any questions regarding the Table of Plenty please contact the church office 215-723-3592.
    • The Bean Bag Food Program provides backpacks of meals to food insecure students in the Souderton Area School District and Quakertown School District.  Bean Bag Food Program uses Zion’s Fellowship Hall as home base to provide approximately 250 children with nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack items to get them through the weekend. This food not only staves off hunger, it allows students to focus and learn when they return to school on Monday. The Bean Bag Food Program also organizes a quarterly breakfast and food give-away.
